Groceries – Day 15 (daytime): Sunflower oil and soy sauce

A little change of plans for the Day 15 groceries. A co-worker donated some leftover peppers and carrot, so I thought I’d use them in a meal. Peppers are one of my favourite things to have in a stir fry, and with a 3 pound before-supper budget available, I had the space for some soy sauce and that long-anticipated bottle of sunflower oil.

Of course I ended up spending over 2 pounds:

Day 15: Receipt

This means that the summary for day 15 now looks as follows:

Budget available for day 15: £ 3.00
Budget used: £ 2.20
Budget left: £ 0.80
Budget available for day 16: £ 1.80

That should sort out my needs for oil for the rest of the month. Deep frying is now a preparation method that’s within reach. I probably shouldn’t use it too often.

That little bottle of soy sauce will see some use, though.

    Well done again! With such amount of oil you can make salad dressings, stir-fries, etc.. It should be enough for the next 2 weeks (or longer?) for all your needs. Fantastic!
